Denis Mutsinzi
All our malachite and semi-precious stone jewellery is from Denis Mutsinzi. Born in Kolwezi in The Congo. Denis now runs the only Fair Trade organisation in the area.
Two Kolwezi families who are mainly involved in agriculture make the jewellery. The income generated by this jewellery has enabled them to buy tools and equipment for farming.
The malachite used in making the jewellery is made from waste from the copper industry in Katanga province, Congo. Malachite is a mineral of copper and is valued for asthma, eyesight problems and rheumatism.
