Define

The inspiration for Define was created from getting together with friends on a Friday night. This then opened up the need for new stylish and individual pieces for casual dining and entertaining. Their products combine feminine forms with contemporary design and an industrial edge to give designer style to home accessories. Define's manufacturing partners are subject to the Ethical Audit, which covers issues such as child labour, minimum wages and working hours etc.  Define have a team of designers in London who create the ideas for the pieces, which then get sent out to their Indian Office to sample the design. The sample is then tested to check practicalities and design alongside material testing before the final product is produced. The overly process takes 8 months before the piece is finished.

These stylish homeware accessories are all handmade in India, from the finest materials. The aluminum dining range is firstly sandcast and then hand cut into shape. Then the pieces are polished and the interiors enameled, with an epoxy food safe coating finally applied to the interior. The Mango Wood used in the salad bowls and servers is sustainably sourced and only the trees that have stopped supplying fruit are cut down for use. The trees are hand cut and carved into shape, which produces a finish that enhances the natural grain and knot of that individual piece. The Sheesham Wood used in our other range of the salad bowls and servers is all hand carved and polished, after the wood has been seasoned for 45 days.
