Nila Rubia
Nila Rubia is a fairly new company that has only been running since 2008. They believe in creating beautifully unique products whilst keeping the ancient craftsmanship of the traditional skills used alive. Nila Rubia work very closely with small artisans, in their own ethical environments, to see the skill and care that has been passed down for generations first hand. Dealing with their artisans direct allows Nila Rubia to keep production quantities fairly minimal, which therefore makes the ethical controls much more manageable. Nila Rubia is hoping to officially go Fair Trade recognised in the near future.
The techniques used for this stunning range of giftwrap are traditional 12th Century
hand block printing techniques from India. As this technique requires a lot of skill, patience and care; Nila Rubia carefully select all their employees and spend a lot of time setting up and organising the system and working order that meets their ethical standards.
