Thang Tho started trading in the UK in 2000. Starting out as a supplier of unique handmade oriental tableware which focused on a modern design ethic, they soon expanded out their range to include interior products such as ceramic vases and soft furnishings. Since the beginning, Thang Tho have worked directly
with artists and artisans, villagers and small communities to produce unique and beautiful products for the UK market. As the market has changed, so have Thang Tho and they have expanded their range to include extraordinary handmade candles and soaps. Since 2006, they have been members of the British Association for Fair Trade shops (BAFTS). They focus on trading with marginalized villagers in Thailand, helping them develop skills, and sustainable livelihoods through our trading relationship. Thang Tho pay fair prices that cover the full cost of production and enable a living wage and other fair rewards to be earned by artisans. They encourage the fair treatment of all workers, ensuring good conditions in the workplace and throughout the supply chain. Thang Tho aim to build up long-term relationships, rather than looking for short-term commercial advantages, with the opportunity to build on handcraft skills and expand their artistic vision in the creation of new crafts. All the candles are handmade in Thailand. The Hana Rose candles are made from 60% Beeswax and 40% Paraffin and burn up to 40 hours. The novelty candles are made from Paraffin wax.
