The UK craft and design industry is one of the most creative and diverse in the world. From ceramics and textiles to jewellery and furniture design there are some amazing designers working within our very own country. We are now sourcing products made in and made by UK based designers, which of course means there is less transportation and haulage of products involved, therefore helping to reduce carbon emissions.
Our fair trading policies still apply and all our suppliers are vetted to ensure workforces are properly supported and that working environments meet ethical and fair trade standards. Production processes and materials are also taken into consideration to ensure that all our products are produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. Supporting local artists is also going to be something we're going to be placing more emphasis on for 2009.
