One Village

One Village is an independent foundation that was born in 1979. The aims of One Village are to build up communities whilst relieving poverty and despair and improving social and environmental conditions. To educate and inform people, and creating a value for everyone that brings together respect and honour for the environment. One Village is a foundation that provides a service for the producers of their crafts; artisans from some of the poorest parts of the world.

These beautiful cushions incorporate traditional Kathiawadi hand embroidery. Made from 100% handloom cotton the embroidery detail incorporates desert peacocks, vines, trees and birds. With a pillowcase-style tuck-in at the back, these cushions are perfect when used on sofas, chairs and even on your bed.

Very few Kathiawadi survive in the desert conditions but a group has resettled in reference to their ancestral village and is encouraged by One Village to continue their unique handcrafted talent. Based on the western Peninsula of India in Gujarat, the Kathiawadi continue to produce beautiful handmade crafts
that are inspired by their natural desert surroundings.
